System Requirements
Recommended
- 2 GHz Intel Processor
- 1 GB RAM
- Windows 7 or Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP SP3 or Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, or Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard
- USB headset, or speakerphone with echo cancellation
- Cable or DSL High Speed Internet with 256 kbps upload or higher

- 56K Dial-up Internet Connection (For a better experience, High Speed Internet is recommended)
Downloading the Software
Very Important!
- You must download and install the latest version (4.3.0.154) for classes this year.
- Teachers and Students DO NOT need to sign up for a GatherPlace account.
- However, students will need to set up a Student account on the TPS family account page when they enroll for classes.
- ALWAYS download the newest version.
- Go to the Help menu on GP4 to check for updates often.

ALWAYS download from the links ABOVE except when instructed by the support staff.

Testing Your Computer
Before You Test
- Make sure your computer meets the System Requirements.
- Get all the recommended Windows Updates or Apple Software Updates.
- Download the newest version of the GatherPlace software.
Audio Test
- Plug in your headset into the proper jacks.
- Double-click the GP4 icon on your Desktop.
- On the GP4 window, click the Audio Tuning Wizard button.
- On the Audio Tuning Wizard, click Start Test.
- If you hear the voice recording, click Yes.
Otherwise, click No until you can hear the recording. - If you hear the second recording, click Yes.
Otherwise, click No and increase your speaker volume. - For the third test, speak into your headset or microphone.
- If you hear yourself echo back, click Yes.
Otherwise, click No until you can hear yourself echo back. - Once you have passed all the tests, close the Audio Tuning Wizard.
Viewer Test
- Plug in your headset into the proper jacks.
- Click here (or here) to view the presentation test. You should see the presentation and hear the accompanying audio.
- Once the presentation is over, click Disconnect Everyone to end the test.
- If you see the presentation, but do not hear the audio, please perform the Audio Test (above) again and make sure your audio devices are configured properly.
If you are having trouble passing the all the tests, go to the File menu on GP4 and select Exit and start over.

Know Your Computer
- Learn how to use your computer. It is an important tool for your education.
- If something seems wrong with your computer, get it repaired as soon as possible.
- GatherPlace can only help with problems regarding our service or software.

Students are assigned Usernames and Passwords and can be found on the Family Page.

Technical Support
- Please test an hour before class and do not wait until the next class to contact technical support.
- Since we will ask you to upgrade to the latest GP4 when you contact us, please make sure that you have installed GP4 version 4.3.0.154 before you contact us for technical support. Click here to go to the Downloads section.
